Red Alert Event – In Support of the Event Industry

On 9/1/2020 SEAS Productions was proud to participate in the #RedAlertRESTART campaign happening across the country. The goal of this movement is to support the live events industry and the RESTART Act. In solidarity with our fellow venues and millions of currently unemployed events workers, we lit up our office building in Carlsbad, CA.

Making Events, Making History.

Through the night #wemakeevents was used in over 34,900 posts on Instagram. In our local community of San Diego there was an outpouring of support, from large organizations like the San Diego Symphony and Petco Park, all the way down to individual live events workers. We stood united behind the cause of restarting our businesses and extending unemployment for our displaced workers.

Our Lighting Setup

For our build out we started by projection mapping a large vertical section of our building with the SEAS logo and the Red Alert #WeMakeEvents logo. This was mapped with an using a Christie HD14K-M. We mapped the wall with logos over top of an animated block texture background and red light. Then we put an ambient wash on the entire building using Showline SL Beam 500FX lights.

The palm trees were lit using 4 Elation Paladins pointed straight up the trunks. Finally the entrance to our office has an LED wall with 102 Absen A3 Pro 3.9mm panels. We put the Red Alert logo on it with a red background.

The whole setup was controlled by our Grand MA3 lite lighting console.
